LOCATION

Amery House is located in Amery Street, Sliema, and is less than a one-minute walk from the bustling Sliema seafront – the island’s most fashionable promenade.

Known as Malta’s shopping capital, the cosmopolitan town is also renowned for casual dining and a rich café culture, thanks to a vast array of eateries and watering holes.

Interestingly, Sliema’s name originates from the Maltese word for peace, ‘sliem’, which sheds light on its rich history. Its streets were once lined with grand houses built by the country’s British rulers, and while many have been replaced by high-rise apartments, Amery Street is considered one of the best-preserved streets, boasting some of the country’s finest residential architecture.

Today, Sliema is popular for its cafés, shops, and eateries, which stretch along the promenade from Manoel Island to the edge of Balluta Bay in St Julian’s, enjoying picturesque views of Valletta and its bastions. It’s also an excellent swimming destination, thanks to an extensive rocky coast that is popular among visitors and locals alike.

The design of the newly built Amery House marries contemporary elegance with historic features and sustainability principles. Outside, a traditionally finished façade and Maltese balconies complement the streetscape, while inside, its ‘Scanditalian’ design gives it a modern yet warm feel. Throughout, a blend of natural materials including marble, wood, and concrete work beautifully against a Mediterranean colour scheme of blues and greens, while efficient lighting, water saving devices and insulation are testament to the team’s focus on sustainability. Upstairs, jacuzzis on the terraces of the top floor rooms add a sense of luxury, elevating the experience even further.

Amery House features a casual restaurant and bar, where guests can enjoy breakfast in a unique setting that fuses contemporary and traditional design features.
